We have secured a share of resources to ensure further traffic calming measures on Fender Way – this is the main traffic thoroughfare through the Estate and speeding traffic presents a potential danger to pedestrians and road users. Here’s some good news!

In addition to further Red road-line markings – which have the effect of reducing the speed of traffic approaching bends, Fender Way will also see introduced a solar panel speed warning device (this flashes up the speed of a car as it approaches the panel) and an automatic speed detection check – which will enable the Highways Department to monitor the speed of traffic and evaluate whether any further measures are required to ensure safety

Without exception the team was warmly welcomed and there was an overwhelming lack of support for the Conservatives with comments such as ‘the Conservatives just can’t be trusted’ and ‘what have the Conservatives ever done for us?’ coming from local residents. The Liberal Democrats didn’t even get a mention, read into that what you wish.
